The Opportunity – Communications Associate – Public Affairs (PA)
The Forum Secretariat is looking internally to employ a suitably qualified and experienced individual to the role of Communications Associate - PA, based on the Communications & Public Affairs Team. The position reports to the Communications and Public Affairs Team Leader and will work closely with staff across the Secretariat.
Some key areas of responsibility will include (but will not be limited to):
Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in communications, Journalism, Media or any other relevant Social Sciences degree with a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in mainstream media is required, with a comprehensive understanding of the operations of a Pacific newsroom, including media ethics, cultural sensitivities, audience engagement and representation, and language and communication styles.
The Package
The position carries a competitive and attractive remuneration and benefits package including allowances for housing and education; and medical, accident and life insurance coverage. This position is based on Band 7 of the PIFS salary scale. The starting salary for the position is FJ$32,795 per annum.
