The Opportunity

 

The Engagement Officer – Regional Governance role will assist and support the Engagement Adviser – Regional Governance to ensure an effective and inclusive approach to strengthen regional coordination and collaboration with its members, and stakeholders across the region, inclusive of the CROP, subregional organisations, and civil society organisation stakeholders.  The key responsibilities are summarised as:

 

  • Coordination of Regional and Sub-Regional Stakeholder Relations
  • Support Regional Policy Development Processes
  • Management of the Smaller Island States Portfolio
  • Organisational and meetings support

 

Applicants should have a degree from a recognized university in Politics, Public Policy, Development, International Relations, Governance, Diplomacy, or other related discipline or related field (preferably Masters degree in these areas would be desirable) with at least 5 years work experience in a policy and/or advocacy agency preferably within the Pacific region and/or international and development policy context.

 

Candidates with demonstrated ability to build networks and relationships. In addition, have the ability to apply sustainable development, political theories, concepts, and approaches. Be a proficient systems thinker at both macro and micro levels.

 

The Benefits

 

The position carries a competitive and attractive remuneration and benefits package including medical and life insurance, education, and housing allowance. The position is placed at Band 10 / Officer level of our salary scale, starting at SDR 32,437 equivalent to FJD 98,353.

 

Note: Amounts are based on 1 May foreign exchange rate, but your final salary will be dependent on foreign exchange rates at the time of payment.
