The Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat (PIFS) is inviting Expressions of Interest from nationals of Forum Member Countries to serve as Members on the Independent Advisory Board (IAB) for the Pacific Trade Invest (PTI) Network. The PTI Network is the region’s trade and investment promotion agency with offices in Australia, China, Europe and New Zealand and an office undertaking similar services in Japan. As the trade and investment promotion network of the PIFS, the PTI is tasked by the Pacific Islands Forum Leaders to facilitate trade, investment and tourism between the economies of the Pacific Island Countries and Territories and the rest of the world.

 

The criteria as outlined in the Terms of Reference, seeks the following:

  1. An individual with banking, accounting, risk management or audit background;
  2. A corporate legal expert;
  3. An individual from the private sector, ideally an MSME with experience in market access;
  4. One Trade Promotion Specialist from the Pacific region;
  5. A Pacific Island businesswoman;
  6. Woman will be equally represented in the board formation; and  
  7. Where feasible, the IAB make up should be representative of the various sub-regions of the Pacific.

 

IAB members will be entitled to receive an honorarium in accordance with the Forum Secretariat’s current daily rates for attending Board meetings provided there are no employment-related restrictions placed on the individual Board member which could preclude him/her from taking up the role. The Secretariat reserves the right to amend future honorarium rates of the PTI IAB.

Completed Expression of Interest forms must be endorsed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade of the relevant Member State either by having the designated official sign the form signed in the space provided below or by attaching an official endorsement letter. All applications must be submitted to the Selection Panel via the PTI General Manager on email caleb@pacifictradeinvest.com with a copy to info@forumsec.org no later than 5.00PM (Fiji Time) on Friday 27 June 2025
